First being financial aid. I need to raise about 2,000 dollars for my food while touring, and any other expense that may pop up while on the road. This is a lot of pressure considering I have about 3 weeks until I leave, and I don't really like asking other people for money for myself.
RJ and my friends, Carly and Jessica have tried to help me brainstorm some ideas, I should hopefully be doing a giant lemonade/bake sale type thing, donation jars like crazy, a huge House Party, Carly even suggests getting a big group to go donate plasma. Sounds like a bad way to make money, like selling parts of your body kinda thing. But I need the money for me to be able to do this tour and I'm lucky enough to have friends who will help like that.
If your reading this, donations would be a HUGE help, if you have any interest in helping me at all, let me know and I can give you all the information, I do believe it is a tax write off if that persuades anyone...
I also have assignments I must complete before I arrive in San Diego. They do this so we can "hit the round running" when we get there. It's an idea that honestly makes perfect sense. I should be receiving a package in the mail with some stuff i need to read/watch/memorize but for now we have to blog about various things, like famous movies we have to watch, bills we need to know up and down, and websites we should familiarize ourselves with. Im having this funny feeling like I am doing AP summer work again.
The HR team created a facebook group for us 2009 roadies to all talk a little before we move in together. It has been amazing! Everyone seems so wonderful! I already love my new IC family!
I have received a lot of information in the last few days. A few important dates. This is how it is all unfolding:
- From now until I leave I have to fundraise my 2,000 dollars. oh boy.
- Friday, July 17th I should find out about my team, region and supervisor!
- The week of July 20th I will talk with my supervisor about last minute details
- August 4th I move in!
- And my first day of training and orientation begins on August 5th. VERY excited!
I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. So although I might be stressed by all this, I would not have it any other way.
Lastly, I want to wish my very good friend Jessica an amazing 18th birthday! I love you girl, and thank you for all your help with my new adventure.
